What is Soccer Shoot Star?
Soccer Shoot Star is a free 2D soccer game where two stick-style athletes battle on a split pitch — each kept to their own half by a midfield line — racing to reach a ball that always drops in the centre and to outscore the other before the timer runs out.
It strips football to its simplest duel: pick a mode, pick a country team, then read where the ball will fall and get your kick in first. Neither player can cross the halfway line, so positioning, jump timing and using your body to kill the ball’s momentum decide every point rather than power-ups or special moves.
What gives it staying power is the shared-keyboard two-player mode. The same single screen hosts both athletes, so a friend on the next set of keys turns the AI duel into a head-to-head scramble for the centre ball. It was built in GDevelop by Siendemy Games.
Playing Soccer Shoot Star
- 1Pick a mode and team
Choose solo against the AI or local two-player, then select your country team before kickoff. Both modes play out on a single shared screen.
- 2Race to the centre ball
The ball always drops in the middle of the pitch, giving both sides an equal shot at it. Move toward the centre line and get there first to take control.
- 3Move, jump and kick
Use left and right to position, jump to meet a high ball, and kick to strike it toward the opponent’s goal. There’s no power bar — angle and timing do the work.
- 4Respect the midfield line
Neither player can cross the line down the middle, so you can only attack from your own half. Time your kick before your rival reaches the ball.
- 5Kill the ball with your body
You can use your body to stop the ball’s momentum in mid-flight, dropping it where you want before lining up your shot.
- 6Outscore the clock
Each goal is worth a point and resets the ball to the centre. Score more than your opponent before the timer hits zero to win.

How to win at Soccer Shoot Star
Start from the centre line. Since the ball always drops in the middle, hugging your side of the halfway line gives you the shortest run to reach it before your opponent.
Time the jump, don’t spam it. Jumping puts you at the right height to meet a dropping ball; mistime it and you sail under or over it while your rival pokes it clear.
Trap before you shoot. Use your body to kill the ball’s momentum in mid-flight so it settles in front of you, then kick from a controlled position instead of swinging at a bouncing ball.
Angle into the open goal. There’s no power meter, so your shot direction comes from where you make contact — strike across the ball to send it toward the side of the net your opponent has left open.
Use the midfield line as defence. Your rival can’t cross into your half, so a well-timed clear from your own side is enough to reset — you only have to win the next centre drop.
Good to know — The whole match hinges on a single ball that always drops in the centre of a pitch split by a midfield line neither player can cross — so every point is a fresh, equal-chance race to reach it first.
