How Rank 'Em works
Rank 'Em is a daily puzzle: order five footballers by a hidden career stat, highest to lowest. The stat — appearances, goals or age — is named up front, so it rewards knowing the numbers behind the names rather than guessing.
Players are drawn from our 773-player database, every one carrying career appearances, goals and age. Each daily ladder picks 5 players with distinct values for the day's stat, so there is always exactly one correct order.

Score 20 points for each player in exactly the right spot, up to 100.
How to rank smarter
- 1. Anchor the extremes first. Place the obvious top and bottom players, then fight over the middle three.
- 2. Match the stat to the player type. On goals, strikers float up and defenders sink; on appearances, durable veterans dominate.
- 3. Mind the age trap. A still-active veteran can be older than a retired legend — recency isn't youth.
- 4. The middle is where points are won. Two adjacent players often swap; double-check that pair before submitting.
- 5. You only submit once. There is no undo after submit, so use the arrows to fine-tune the order first.
A worked example
The stat is most career appearances. Two of the five are famous one-club veterans — they go straight to the top two slots. A current young star, however many highlights they have, sits near the bottom on raw games played. That leaves two mid-career names to separate: the one who started younger and avoided injuries usually edges it. Anchor the obvious pair, reason out the middle, and a 5/5 is within reach.

How do I rank the players?
Drag the cards into order, or use the up and down arrows on each row. The top slot is the highest value. When you are happy, hit Submit.
How is it scored?
You get one submit. Score is based on how many of the 5 players you place in exactly the right spot — 20 points each, up to 100 for a perfect ladder.
Which stats are used?
Career appearances, career goals, and age. The stat is named up front, so it is a knowledge test, not a guessing game.
Are the values clear-cut?
Yes. The five players are chosen with distinct values for the day’s stat, so there is always one unambiguous correct order.
How is it different from Higher or Lower?
Higher or Lower compares two players at a time; Rank 'Em asks you to order all five at once, which is a harder, more complete ranking challenge.
How is it different from Football Timeline?
Timeline orders one player’s clubs by date; Rank 'Em orders five different players by a numeric stat.
Is everyone shown the same ladder daily?
Yes. A seeded generator gives every player the same five footballers and stat on a given date.
Is there an archive?
Yes. Past daily ladders are replayable from the archive and don’t affect your streak.
Can I play Rank 'Em on mobile?
Yes. It is a responsive web game with drag-and-drop and arrow buttons sized for touch — no download.
