What is Football True or False?
Football True or False is a fast, daily true-or-false quiz: swipe right for true, left for false. A statement about a footballer flashes on a card — which club they played for, their position, nationality, or a career-stat claim — and you decide if it's right. It's the only reflex, beat-the-clock game on PlayFutbol; every other game is turn-based.
Each daily run is 15 statements, auto-generated and auto-verified against 773 players, 200+ clubs and 69 nationalities using 7 statement types. Every claim is checked true or false with buffer zones, and runs roughly 50/50 true to false.

Every statement is built from one of these 7 templates and then verified against the dataset before it appears — so a “false” card is provably false, never a trick of missing data.

How to get a high score
- 1. Don't panic-swipe. A wrong answer costs a life and resets your multiplier — the single most expensive mistake. A half-second of thought beats a reflex miss.
- 2. Protect the streak. Points scale with your multiplier (up to ×2.0), so a clean 10-in-a-row is worth far more than scattered correct answers.
- 3. Bank time early. Each correct answer adds 2 seconds; stringing together quick correct swipes builds a time cushion for the trickier cards.
- 4. Trust the obvious ones. Marquee players and big clubs are usually decisive — swipe them fast and save your thinking time for stat thresholds.
- 5. Watch the gotchas. “This goalkeeper has scored 50+ goals” is almost always false — read the position and the number together.

What happens when I get one wrong?
You lose a life. You start with 3 lives and the run ends when they run out — but you earn a life back every 5 correct answers (up to 3), so a hot streak keeps you alive.
How does the timer work?
You start with 45 seconds of shared time. Every correct answer adds 2 seconds (capped at 60), and the run ends if the clock hits zero. Fast, accurate play extends your time.
How is my score calculated?
Each correct answer scores points multiplied by your current streak multiplier, which climbs from ×1.0 up to ×2.0 over a 10-answer streak. A wrong answer resets the streak — so protecting your streak is the key to a high score.
Are the statements actually accurate?
Yes. Every statement is auto-generated and then auto-verified against our database of 773 players before it appears, using buffer zones around numeric thresholds so there are no ambiguous near-misses.
Is there an unlimited or practice mode?
Yes. After your daily run you can play Unlimited — an endless stream of fresh statements that does not affect your daily streak or stats.
Is everyone given the same statements each day?
Yes. A seeded generator builds the same daily set for every visitor, so leaderboards and shared scores are fair to compare.
