Football Higher or Lower is a daily streak game: you pick whether the hidden footballer's career stat is higher or lower than the one shown. Every correct call chains into the next card. Survive all ten daily rounds for a perfect run, or play Unlimited for an endless, ever-tightening streak.
Match-ups are drawn from a 773-player database using static career totals — not live market value. Career appearances cover 773 players (range 56–1100, a 0% tie rate); career goals cover 728 players. The daily chain locks one stat and guarantees every round has a decisive answer.

The stat dimensions
We measured every candidate stat for how often two random players tie. Career appearances and goals are clean enough to drive gameplay; age and club-count are not, so they stay out of play.

Daily, Unlimited and streaks
- Daily — a fixed 10-round chain, identical for every player. Clear all 10 for a perfect run that extends your daily streak.
- Unlimited — an endless run that tightens as your streak grows; the two values are drawn ever closer together. Your best Unlimited streak is saved locally.
How to extend your streak
- 1. Know the iron-men. On career appearances, durable veterans sit at 800–1100 games — almost unbeatable references.
- 2. Know the scorers. On goals, out-and-out strikers tower over midfielders, and defenders and keepers sit near the bottom.
- 3. Anchor on the visible value. The known card's number frames the call — ask whether the hidden player's role and longevity beat it.
- 4. Favour the bigger career on coin-flips. When unsure, the longer or more decorated career usually wins on appearances.
- 5. Brace for tighter gaps. In Unlimited mode the two values are drawn closer as your streak climbs, so late calls are deliberately harder.
A worked example
The reference card shows a defender with 333 career appearances and the hidden player is another outfielder of the same generation. Without knowing the exact number, you can reason it out: a long-serving full-back or midfielder of that era often clears 400–500 games, so “higher” is the percentage call. Knowing roughly where each role sits on the appearance scale turns a guess into an informed bet.

The daily chain is built so no two adjacent cards share the same value — every round has a decisive answer. Career appearances have a 0% tie rate in our pool, which is why it is the primary dimension.
What is the difference between Daily and Unlimited?
Daily is a fixed 10-round chain — the same players in the same order for everyone, so scores are comparable. Unlimited is an endless streak run that gets harder as your streak grows (values are drawn closer together). Unlimited never affects your daily streak.
How accurate are the numbers?
Appearance and goal totals come from each player's career record in our database (last audited on the date shown below). Career appearances span 773 eligible players; career goals span 728.
Does my best streak save?
Yes. Your best Unlimited streak is stored locally in your browser, and a perfect daily run (10/10) extends your daily streak and counts toward cross-game achievements.
What is the best strategy for Higher or Lower?
Learn the shape of the data. On appearances, durable veterans tower over everyone — an iron-man with 800+ games beats almost any opponent. On goals, prolific strikers dwarf defenders and goalkeepers. Use the visible reference value as your anchor and lean on those extremes.
How do I handle a close call?
When two players look similar on the stat, favour the longer or more decorated career on appearances, and the recognised goalscorer on goals. In Unlimited mode the gap deliberately narrows as your streak grows, so expect tougher calls the further you go.
