One key, two floppy players and a pitch that changes after every goal — race to five against the computer or a friend on the same keyboard.

What is Soccer Random?
Soccer Random is a free one-button football game in which two teams of two floppy pixel-art players kick at the same ball, and every goal reshuffles the conditions — pitch, ball, goals and kits — before the next kick-off. The first team to five goals wins, against the computer or a friend.
There is no running, passing or aiming. Each team has one key. Hold it and both of your players swing their legs and launch themselves at the ball; let go and they drop back to the turf. Where the ball ends up is decided by physics, so the whole game comes down to the moment you choose to press.
The name is the other half of the idea. In our testing the rounds moved between a city park by day, at sunset and at night, a snow-covered pitch and a beach by the sea. The ball changed too — a standard football, a striped beach ball, a small yellow ball and an oval, rugby-style ball all turned up — and so did the goals, which were taller in some rounds and set closer together in others. Both teams get new kits each time.
GameDistribution lists Soccer Random under RHM Interactive and published it on February 28, 2020. The game itself carries TwoPlayerGames.org branding on its loading screen, its title screen and the advertising board under the pitch. It is built with the Construct 3 engine and uses Box2D for its physics, which is why players tumble, cartwheel and land on their heads.
It is also the most-viewed football game we found on GameDistribution. When we reviewed the 228 football games in its catalogue in October 2026, Soccer Random had more page views on GameDistribution’s own site than any other — more than three times the next game.
Within our arcade it sits next to Leg Soccer and Kick it 1v1 as a physics duel, but its controls are the simplest of the three. That makes Soccer Random a good pick when two people share one keyboard or one phone: there is nothing to learn beyond which key is yours.
Playing Soccer Random
- 1Pick 1P or 2P
The Soccer Random title screen has two big buttons: 1P to play the computer and 2P to play a friend on the same device.
- 2Find your team
In 1P you are the team on the right, and a “HOLD (↑)” prompt appears on that side at kick-off; the computer plays from the left. In 2P the left-hand team plays with W and the right-hand team with the Up arrow, and both prompts appear.
- 3Hold to kick
Hold your key and both of your players kick and leap at the same time. Release it and they fall back down.
- 4Time the swing
Wait until the ball is close to your players before you press, so the kick meets the ball instead of thin air. Aim to send it toward the opposite goal.
- 5Read the new round
After each goal a “GOAL!” banner appears and the scene changes. Take a second to see which ball and which goals you have before the next kick-off.
- 6Reach five goals
The first team to five wins. A banner names the winner — “CPU WINS” if the computer gets there first — and the 1P and 2P buttons appear again for a rematch.
Soccer Random controls
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| Up arrow (hold) | 1P: kick with your team · 2P: kick with the right-hand team |
| W (hold) | 2P: kick with the left-hand team |
| Hold right half of the screen (touch) | Kick with the right-hand team |
| Hold left half of the screen (touch) | Kick with the left-hand team (2P) |
| Pause button (top right) | Pause; the play arrow resumes the match |
Modes & progression
You control the right-hand team with the Up arrow, and the computer plays the left. The computer reacts quickly, so be ready from the first kick-off.
Two people share one keyboard — W for the left-hand team, the Up arrow for the right — or one touchscreen, each holding their own half.
Every match is a race to five goals. With rounds that often last only a few seconds, a full game is short enough to play again straight away.
After every goal the pitch, sky, ball, goals and kits can change, from a snowy park at night to a beach with a striped ball.
How to win at Soccer Random
Hold, don’t tap. The prompt at kick-off says HOLD, and it means it: your players keep kicking only while the key is down, and drop back the moment you let go. Press early and hold through the contact rather than stabbing at the key.
Be ready at kick-off. In 1P the computer goes for the ball as soon as a round starts. In one of our rounds it had scored within about two seconds of the restart, so have your finger on the key before the ball drops.
Watch the player nearer the ball. One key moves both of your players at once. Time the press for whichever of them is closer to the ball — the other one is along for the ride.
Check the ball before you swing. Soccer Random can hand you a full-size football, a beach ball, a small ball or an oval one. Let the first bounce of a new round show you what you are playing with before you commit.
Mind your own goal. When the goals are set close together, every touch happens near a net. A wild swing in front of your own goal can send the ball the wrong way, so stay patient when the ball is on your side.
Stay on your half of the screen. On a phone or tablet the screen is split down the middle: the left half kicks for the left-hand team and the right half for the right-hand team. In a 2P game, a thumb that drifts across the middle plays for your opponent.
Use the pause button between rounds. The button in the top-right corner stops the game; the play arrow brings you back. It is the easiest way to swap who holds the phone in a 2P match.
Good to know — Soccer Random was the most-viewed football game we found on GameDistribution: in October 2026 it had more than three times the page views of the next football game in the catalogue.

Hold your key to make both of your players kick at the ball, and release it to let them drop. Time your kicks to knock the ball into the other team’s goal. The first team to score five goals wins.
In 1 player mode, hold the Up arrow. In 2 player mode, the left-hand team holds W and the right-hand team holds the Up arrow. On a touchscreen, hold the half of the screen on your team’s side.
The team on the right. When a round starts in 1P, a “HOLD (↑)” prompt appears on the right-hand side, and the computer plays the left-hand team. If the computer reaches five goals first, the game shows “CPU WINS”.
Yes — 2P mode is for two people on the same device. On a keyboard one player uses W and the other the Up arrow; on a phone or tablet each player holds their own half of the screen. There is no online multiplayer.
Five. Every Soccer Random match, in 1P or 2P, ends as soon as one team scores its fifth goal, and the score is shown in the bottom corners — red on the left, blue on the right.
Almost everything around the players. In our testing the pitch switched between grass, snow and sand, the sky between day, sunset and night, and the ball between a normal football, a beach ball, a small ball and an oval one. The goals changed height and spacing, and both teams got new kits.
Soccer Random runs on Box2D physics, and its players behave like ragdolls: holding the key throws them at the ball, and gravity decides how they land. In our games they cartwheeled, piled on top of each other and ended up on their heads — tumbling is part of the fun.
Yes. GameDistribution lists it for iOS and Android, and the touch controls are simple: hold the right half of the screen in 1P, or your own half in 2P.
The game carries TwoPlayerGames.org branding on its loading screen, title screen and pitch-side board. GameDistribution lists the publisher as RHM Interactive.
