Floppy Football
A one-touch football game in the spirit of Flappy Bird: tap to bounce the ball over the wooden posts, score a point for every one you clear, and chase your high score.

What is Floppy Football?
Floppy Football is a free one-touch football game in which every click or tap bounces the ball upward, wooden posts slide in from the right, and you score a point for each post you clear — touch one and the run ends.
GamePix published it on March 6, 2023. It is built in Construct 3, plays in portrait and runs in desktop and mobile browsers. The name is a nod to the game it borrows from: Flappy Bird, the 2013 mobile hit in which a bird flaps between pipes. Floppy Football swaps the bird for a football and the pipes for stacked wooden posts, and keeps the same one-button tension.
The scene is bright and simple: blue sky, a smiling cartoon sun, drifting clouds, a strip of grass and red-brown earth underneath. The ball starts resting on the grass. The moment you tap, it hops upward, and the first post begins to slide toward it from the right edge of the screen.
Your score sits at the top of the screen in a small blue badge, and it goes up by one for every post you get past. In our first runs we cleared one post before clipping the next — which is about right for a first attempt at a game like this. When the run ends you are back on the title screen, where Your Score and High Score sit side by side under the logo.
A note on the official description. GamePix’s listing describes keeping the ball airborne with your player’s head and mentions solo and multiplayer modes. The version we played is the obstacle game described here: a single ball, wooden posts, one tap to bounce and a high score to chase. We have written this page from what the game actually does.
That simplicity is the appeal. There are no menus to learn, no teams to pick and no levels to unlock — just a ball, a gap and your timing. It suits the moments when you have half a minute to spare, and it is the most purely “one more go” game in the PlayFutbol arcade.
If you like it, the closest companions in our arcade are Sprunki Ball Juggling, another tap-timing test that keeps two balls in the air, and Soccer Dash, where you steer the ball itself through obstacles. Floppy Football is the simplest of the three: one input, one rule, one number to beat.
Playing Floppy Football
- 1Press Play
Tap the green play button on the title screen. Your last score and your high score are shown at the top, so you always know the target.
- 2Tap to bounce
Each click or tap bounces the ball upward. Between taps it falls back toward the grass, so you keep it in the air with a steady rhythm of taps.
- 3Read the next post
Wooden posts rise from the ground and slide in from the right. Look at how tall the next one is and where the open space above it begins.
- 4Clear it
Time your taps so the ball passes over the post without touching it. Each post you clear adds one to the score at the top of the screen.
- 5Keep the rhythm
Posts keep coming, so the run is about consistency more than any single jump. Settle into a tapping rhythm and adjust it for each post. The posts vary in height, so the rhythm that cleared one may need a tap more or less for the next.
- 6Beat your high score
Touch a post and the run ends, sending you back to the title screen with your score next to your best. Tap play to go again straight away.

One continuous run with posts arriving one after another. Each post cleared is a point; the run ends on the first touch.
How to win at Floppy Football
Tap small and often. Big gaps between taps let the ball drop a long way, which makes the next tap harder to judge. Short, regular taps keep the ball in a narrow band that is easier to steer. Think of it as holding the ball at a height rather than launching it.
Look one post ahead. The post right in front of you is already decided by your current rhythm. Glance at the next one as it appears on the right so you can start adjusting early. Reacting late is what turns a good run into a short one.
Aim for the middle of the gap. Skimming just over a post feels efficient but leaves no margin. Carry the ball a little higher than you need and you will survive small timing errors. A safe clearance is worth exactly as much as a close one.
Do not panic-tap. When the ball is about to hit a post, a flurry of taps usually sends it into the top of the screen or straight back down into the next post. One deliberate tap is better. Calm hands win this game.
Use the first seconds to settle. The ball starts on the grass and the first post takes a moment to arrive. Use that time to find your rhythm before you need it.
Play upright on a phone. Floppy Football is a portrait game. Holding your phone upright gives you the full height of the screen to see the posts coming.
Chase small records. Beating your best by one post is still a new high score. Aim for steady improvement rather than a huge jump, and the bigger numbers follow.
Good to know — Floppy Football is the only endless high-score game in the PlayFutbol arcade: there are no levels, no opponent and no timer — just one tap, one ball and a row of wooden posts.

Click or tap to bounce the ball upward and steer it over the wooden posts that slide in from the right. Each post you clear scores a point; touching one ends the run. Your best result is saved as your high score on the title screen.
Yes — that is the idea behind the name. Like Flappy Bird, it is a one-button game about keeping something in the air and threading it past obstacles. Floppy Football uses a football and wooden posts instead of a bird and pipes.
You score one point for every wooden post the ball gets past. The score is shown in a small badge at the top of the screen and updates as you clear each post.
Touching a post. As soon as the ball hits one, the run ends and you return to the title screen, which shows your score and your high score.
One input: click with the mouse or tap the screen to bounce the ball upward. The GamePix listing also describes keyboard controls, but a click or tap is all we needed.
GamePix’s listing describes keeping the ball up with your player’s head and mentions multiplayer. The version we played is a single-player obstacle game with a ball and wooden posts, and this page describes that game.
Keep a steady rhythm of short taps, carry the ball a little above each post rather than skimming it, and look at the next post as soon as it appears. Avoid panic-tapping when the ball gets close to a post.
Yes, and it is ideal there. Floppy Football plays in portrait and needs only a tap, so it works perfectly on a phone held in one hand. It also runs in desktop browsers with a mouse.
Both are tap-timing games, but Sprunki Ball Juggling asks you to keep two balls in the air by tapping the left and right sides of the screen. Floppy Football has one ball and one input, and the challenge is threading it over a stream of wooden posts.
GamePix’s listing does not name a developer, and the game shows no studio credit on its title screen. The listing confirms it was built in Construct 3 and published in March 2023.
