What is Offroad Island?
Offroad Island is a free 3D off-road driving game for the browser: you start with money and no vehicle, buy your first ride at the dealership, and take it out onto one of three open maps to explore, gather gold and race through checkpoints. GameDistribution describes it as an exciting racing game in which you “earn money by completing missions, and customize your vehicles by upgrading them”.
The game opens with a gift and a hint. “We’ve given you $30,000 to start - visit the dealership! Hint: That’s enough for a truck and a quad!” The garage screen shows your vehicle, your XP (30 to start), your cash, a button that pays $2,500 for watching a video, a settings gear and a Sell Truck button, with Dealership, Customize, Upgrades, Tuning and a big Play button along the bottom.
The dealership sorts its stock into four classes, each with its own pitch. Trucks are “where everyone starts” — stock trucks that can be modified into off-road rigs. Quads are “light, nimble, and incredibly fast”. SxS side-by-sides have “almost all the agility of a quad” plus a roll cage, restraints and a passenger. Crawlers are “purpose built for slamming up, over, and into rocks”. A Premium Vehicles button sits underneath, marked New.
The trucks we browsed cost between $20,000 and $30,000, so the starting money buys one with change to spare — we bought a $20,000 pickup and were left with $10,000.
Play leads to the map choice. Woodlands is a forested area “with both natural obstacles and stunt objects”; MuddyHill is challenging terrain in a dense forest full of thick vegetation; Muddylands has “muddy terrains with climbable hills”. Inside a map, the game spells out the goal: “Explore the map, gather the gold, discover the red racing checkpoints, and complete the races to multiply your money!”
Buying works like a showroom. Each class opens on a single vehicle on a lift, with arrows on either side to browse and a Buy Now button showing the price. Once bought, the vehicle appears in the garage, the top bar names its class — “Truck” in our case — and the price comes off your balance. The settings gear opens three options: graphics quality (Medium by default), music and sounds.
The driving screen packs in a lot: a mini-map in the top-left corner, a tachometer and temperature gauge with a speed readout at the bottom, and a row of icons along the top, each with its key printed under it — G (with a LO–HI slider), H, J, L, R, U, V, C and P. GameDistribution lists Offroad Island under Hihoy and published it on April 15, 2024.

Modes & progression
A forested area with natural obstacles and stunt objects — a loop and ramps are visible on its map card.
Challenging off-road terrain in a dense forest full of thick vegetation and natural obstacles.
Muddy terrain with climbable hills, on an island ringed by water.
Four vehicle classes — Trucks, Quads, SxS and Crawlers — plus Premium Vehicles.
How to win at Offroad Island
Follow the hint. Offroad Island’s opening message says $30,000 is enough for a truck and a quad. Trucks start at $20,000, so buy the truck first and keep the change toward a second vehicle.
Pick the map for your vehicle. Crawlers are built “for slamming up, over, and into rocks”, quads are light and fast, and trucks are the all-rounders. Rocky, hilly Muddylands suits a crawler; the stunt objects of Woodlands suit something quick.
Chase the red checkpoints. Gold adds up, but the game’s own advice is that races “multiply your money”. Look for the red racing checkpoints early.
Watch the mini-map. The mini-map in the top-left corner shows your position on the map. Use it to explore systematically instead of driving in circles.
Use the labelled keys. Every HUD icon shows its key underneath. Learning L for the lights, the camera keys and P to pause saves you reaching for the mouse mid-drive.
Sell before you switch classes. The garage has a Sell Truck button in its top-right corner. If you want to move from a truck to a crawler or a side-by-side, selling the first vehicle puts money back toward the next.
Good to know — Offroad Island prints the key for every dashboard function right under its icon — G, H, J, L, R, U, V, C and P — so the controls are on screen the whole time you drive.
