What is Mini Golf Saga?
Mini Golf Saga is a free 3D mini golf game for the browser, set on a sandy island with palm trees, a rocky headland and open sea all around. You drag the ball to aim and set the power, sink it in as few shots as you can, and play an eight-hole course with a limited number of balls on every hole.
GameDistribution describes it as “a captivating 3D mini-golf game set against the backdrop of a picturesque beach, featuring diverse golf levels where precision is key to achieving the lowest hit count for a high score.” Its instructions add the catch: you are “strategically managing limited hits per level”, with “the option to watch a rewarded video ad for additional chances.”
The screen keeps everything in view. The hole number sits top left — it read “HOLE: 1 / 8” when we started — the score is in the middle at the top, the pause button is top right, and a row of balls along the bottom shows how many shots you have left. Each ball turns grey when you use it.
Every hole opens with an overhead view of the whole layout before the camera drops in behind the ball, which is marked with a dashed circle. Hole 1 is a straight green between wooden rails, with one coin on the line and three balls. Hole 2 is an L-shaped dogleg with a wooden block in the first leg, a round stump in the second and four balls. Hole 3 is a longer dogleg with three coins on it and, again, four balls.
Our first shot in Mini Golf Saga was too strong. It rolled through the coin — the score jumped from 0 to 200 — ran straight past the flag and stopped against the back rail. A short putt back down the green dropped in, and the game flashed “GREAT”, “BIRDIE” and “+600”. A panel then read “HOLE 1 COMPLETE” with a score of 800, and offered two buttons: home and the next hole.
That birdie explains the scoring. The number of balls you get on a hole is its par: holing out with the last of the three balls on hole 1 scored “PAR” and +500 on our second run, and so did holing out with the fourth ball on hole 2. One shot fewer is a birdie, worth +600, and each coin adds 200 on top. The praise word changes from hole to hole — we saw GREAT, FANTASTIC and AMAZING.
Run out of balls and Mini Golf Saga stops you. On hole 2 we used all four without holing out, and a panel read “OUT OF BALLS — ADD 3 MORE BALLS?” with a YES button marked with a video icon and a NO button. We pressed NO. The next panel read “GAME OVER”, showed our score of 800 with “HIGH SCORE!” underneath, and offered home and restart; restart took us back to hole 1 with the score at zero.
GameDistribution lists Mini Golf Saga under MarketJS, in its Casual and Sports categories, and published it on February 26, 2024. It lists English and Simple English as the game’s languages and marks it for iOS and Android. We did not see a developer credit inside the game.
Playing Mini Golf Saga
- 1Read the hole
Each hole starts with an overhead view of the layout. Note the bends, the obstacles and the coins before the camera drops in behind the ball.
- 2Press on the ball
Press inside the dashed circle around the ball. Mini Golf Saga’s tutorial: “Drag the ball to adjust force and direction.”
- 3Pull back to aim
Drag away from where you want the ball to go. A red arrow in front of the ball shows the direction, and the marker under your finger turns from green to yellow to orange as the shot gets stronger.
- 4Let go to putt
Release and the ball rolls, leaving a white trail behind it. It bounces off the wooden rails and blocks, and the camera follows it.
- 5Turn the camera
The tutorial’s second page: “Tap outside of the ball and drag to rotate the camera.” Swing the view round until the flag is where you want it.
- 6Hole out in time
Sink the ball before the row of balls at the bottom is empty. The tutorial’s rule: “Complete the course before running out of balls.”

Modes & progression
From “HOLE: 1 / 8” to 8 / 8. Your score carries from hole to hole, and running out of balls on any hole ends the run.
Par +500, birdie +600 and +200 for each coin — as we scored them on the first two holes.
Out of balls, the game asks “ADD 3 MORE BALLS?” YES plays a video; NO ends the game.
How to win at Mini Golf Saga
Use less power than you think. Power builds quickly in Mini Golf Saga. Our first pull on hole 1 — the marker only yellow — sent the ball the whole length of the green and into the back rail. Start with a short, green-marker pull and add power on the next shot if you need it.
Plan from the overhead view. Every Mini Golf Saga hole shows its whole layout from above first. That is the moment to plan your route round a dogleg and pick out the coins worth chasing.
Line up beside obstacles. On hole 2 our first shot clipped the wooden block in the first leg and bounced back towards us. Aim past the side of a block, not over it.
Let the rails work for you. The wooden rails keep the ball on the course — our overhit first shot on hole 1 stopped against the back rail instead of leaving the green. On a dogleg, the outside rail is something to aim at, not only something to avoid.
Square up before a short putt. Tap outside the ball and drag until the flag sits straight ahead of it; then a straight pull down the screen aims straight at the hole. That is how our last putt on hole 2 went in.
Count your balls. The balls along the bottom are the par. Holing out with the last one still scores par (+500); one early is a birdie (+600). A coin is worth 200 — two-fifths of a par — so pick them up when they are on your line.
Press again if the view turns. A couple of our presses turned the camera instead of picking up the ball. Let go and press again in the middle of the dashed circle; no ball is used until a shot is played.
Good to know — In Mini Golf Saga the row of balls at the bottom of the screen doubles as the par: three balls on hole 1 and four on hole 2, and holing out with the last ball is scored PAR.

Press on the ball, drag back to set the direction and power, and let go. Sink each of the eight holes before the balls at the bottom of the screen run out.
Mouse or touch. The game’s tutorial says: “Drag the ball to adjust force and direction,” and “Tap outside of the ball and drag to rotate the camera.”
The counter reads “HOLE: 1 / 8”, so a run of Mini Golf Saga is eight holes. We played the first three: a straight green, an L-shaped dogleg with a block and a stump, and a longer dogleg.
Mini Golf Saga sets the number hole by hole — three on hole 1, four on holes 2 and 3. Each shot uses one ball, and its icon at the bottom of the screen turns grey.
Holing out with your last ball scores par, +500; one ball early is a birdie, +600. Each coin you roll through adds 200. The score carries over from hole to hole.
A panel asks “ADD 3 MORE BALLS?” YES, marked with a video icon, adds them after a video. NO ends the run with a Game Over panel showing your score.
Yes. The Game Over panel marks a new best with “HIGH SCORE!” — ours read 800 after a birdie and a coin on hole 1.
The power builds quickly. Our first pull on hole 1, with the marker only yellow, ran the whole length of the green; the putts that dropped were short, green-marker pulls.
Power. A short pull shows green, a longer one yellow, and a long pull orange. The red arrow in front of the ball shows the direction.
Tap anywhere outside the ball and drag. The ball itself is marked with a dashed circle when it is ready to be played.
The pause menu and the Game Over panel both have a restart button. From Game Over, it took us back to hole 1 with the score at zero.
