What is Soccer Duel?
Soccer Duel is a free table-football game for the browser in which each team is five players standing on round bases, and you shoot by holding on one of them, dragging the pointer onto the ball and letting go. You pick one of 32 national teams and play leagues, an eight-team tournament, a penalty shootout, a faster Crazy Mode or a friend on the same device.
GameDistribution published it on March 22, 2026, under Illusions Games, and the game’s files load from Illusions Games’ own server. The official description calls it “an exciting game in the style of table football”, and that is a fair summary: the camera looks down on a small, walled five-a-side pitch, and every move is a strike of one player into the ball rather than a run.
Six tiles fill the Soccer Duel main menu: Single Player, Two Players (local), Two Players (online), Tournament, Crazy Mode! and Penalty. A trophy counter and a coin counter sit along the top, and a banner offers 25 coins for watching an ad. Coins are the game’s currency — leagues charge an entry fee in coins and pay out a prize, and the shop sells new formations and new teams.
Before each game you choose a team on a card that shows its kit, its flag and three ratings: Power, Time and Aim. The ratings differ from team to team — Argentina, the default, has strong Power and weak Aim — so the choice matters. When we cycled through, 15 of the 32 teams carried a padlock, as did four of the five formations; only 1-2-2 was open from the start.
Single-player games in Soccer Duel are played in leagues, and each league is a trade-off between risk and time. The first costs nothing to enter, pays 25 coins and lasts 120 seconds; the last costs 250 coins, pays 1,000 and lasts 180 seconds. At full time a Game Summary screen counts each side’s shots, passes and shots on goal.
In our arcade, Soccer Duel sits with the tabletop games — Giro Football, Soccer Tournament and Finger Soccer – World Cup 2022 — rather than with the head-soccer duels. Of those, it has the most to do: the league ladder, the shop, a knockout cup, a penalty mode in which you also keep goal, and a local two-player mode with seven pitch designs to choose from.
Playing Soccer Duel
- 1Pick a mode and a team
Choose a tile on the Soccer Duel menu, then use the arrows on the team card to pick a nation and a formation. A padlock means the team or formation has to be bought in the shop first.
- 2Choose a league
In Single Player you then pick one of the five Soccer Duel leagues. Each card shows its entry fee, its prize and the match length.
- 3Aim from a player
Press and hold on one of your players, then drag the pointer onto the ball. A dotted line and an arrow show where the ball will go.
- 4Release to strike
Let go while the pointer is over the ball. Your player is fired at it and knocks it in the direction you aimed — toward the goal, or toward a teammate.
- 5Change shape mid-match
The tactics-board icon at the top of the screen opens the formation screen, where you can switch between the formations you own without leaving the game.
- 6Win before the clock runs out
The clock counts down from the league’s match length. Lead at the end to win the prize; the Game Summary then lets you restart or go back to the menu.

Modes & progression
Five leagues against the computer. Entry fee, prize and match length: 0 / 25 coins / 120 s, 25 / 80 / 90 s, 50 / 150 / 60 s, 100 / 300 / 120 s and 250 / 1,000 / 180 s.
An eight-team knockout bracket — quarterfinals, semifinals and a final — for the trophy.
Two people on one device. Each picks a team and a formation, and you choose one of seven pitch designs and a match length of 1, 3 or 5 minutes.
A one-minute match against the computer at a far higher tempo. In ours the computer took 22 shots in the minute.
One kicker against one goalkeeper, five attempts each. You take a kick, then switch to keeping goal; five dots under each name record the result of every attempt.
Listed on the menu and in the official description as two players over the network. It opens the same team screen; we did not test online matchmaking.
How to win at Soccer Duel
Release over the ball, not near it. In Soccer Duel the strike happens when you let go, and the pointer has to be on the ball at that moment. Drag all the way onto it before you release.
Use the player with the clearest line. Any of your players can strike, so before you drag, look for the one whose line to the ball points at the goal with nobody in the way.
Do not wait for the computer. The clock keeps running whether or not you move. In our first Soccer Duel league match the computer had five shots to our two — idle seconds are its seconds.
Start in the free league. The first league costs nothing and pays 25 coins over 120 seconds. Build coins there before you pay 50, 100 or 250 to enter the bigger ones.
Pick a team for its ratings. Power, Time and Aim vary by nation. If your shots keep going wide, try a team with a longer Aim bar instead of staying with the default.
Keep goal by moving early. In the Soccer Duel penalty mode your keeper moves when you drag him along the line. Get him across before the kick rather than chasing the ball after it.
Spend coins where they count. The shop sells New Formations and New Teams. A second formation gives you something to switch to with the tactics board when a match is going badly.
Good to know — Soccer Duel’s leagues are priced: the first costs nothing and pays 25 coins, the top one costs 250 coins to enter and pays 1,000 — and the coins you win are what unlock the locked teams and formations in the shop.

Press and hold on one of your players, drag the pointer onto the ball and release. Your player strikes the ball in the direction of the arrow. Score more than the other team before the clock runs out.
Yes — that is how its developer describes it. The players stand on round bases on a small walled pitch and never run; every move is one player being fired into the ball, more like flicking pieces than dribbling.
Thirty-two national teams, including Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Croatia and Uruguay. When we started, 15 of them were locked, along with four of the five formations; they are bought with coins in the shop.
Single-player games are played in five leagues. Each has an entry fee, a prize and a match length — from free entry, a 25-coin prize and 120 seconds up to a 250-coin entry, a 1,000-coin prize and 180 seconds. Coins also come from watching an optional ad on the main menu.
Yes. Two Players (local) is for two people on one device, with a choice of seven pitch designs and 1, 3 or 5-minute matches. There is also a Two Players (online) mode, which we did not test.
You and the computer take five penalties each. You shoot with the same hold-drag-release control, then keep goal by dragging your goalkeeper along the line. The dots under each name turn to show which attempts failed.
A one-minute match played at a much higher tempo. In ours the computer took 22 shots in that minute, against five in a two-minute league match.
Yes. The tactics-board icon at the top of the screen opens the formation screen in the middle of a game. In our test a locked formation could not be selected there either.
