Why Legends lineups are harder
The legend pool is only 408 players across 42 nations — a fraction of Open Futbol 11. Smaller football nations rarely field a legend at all, so the daily 11 skews toward Europe and South America, and filling every position with a 2+ trophy winner is the real test.

A player is in the Legends pool if they have 2+ career trophies in our database — 408 players across 42 nations. We don't use a 'retired' flag, because players retire, return, and turn to coaching; the football data industry avoids that field too. A small manual override list patches edge cases.
Are current players included?

Yes. The pool is achievement-based, not retirement-based, so heavily-decorated active players (e.g. multi-trophy winners still playing) appear alongside retired greats.
Which nations are in the legend pool?

42 nations have 2+ legend-pool players. Spain is deepest (51 legends), reflecting the trophy hauls of Real Madrid and Barcelona squads. Smaller football nations rarely clear the 2-trophy bar.
Why is my country missing from Legends?

The legend pool only spans 42 nations — far fewer than the 64 in Open Futbol 11. If no player from a country has 2+ trophies in our database, that country cannot appear in a Legends puzzle.
Why are some formations greyed out?

The validator checks whether the day's 11 legend nations can fill each formation using legend-pool players only. Greyed = not solvable with legends.
Who is the most decorated player in the pool?

In our current database, the most-decorated players carry 18–23 career trophies. The Most Decorated table on this page lists the live top 12, recomputed each rebuild.
Where does the trophy data come from?

Transfermarkt, Wikipedia, and official honours records, manually audited by the PlayFutbol Data Team. We do not use AI-generated biographies.
Does Legends Edition affect my main Futbol 11 streak?

Playing any Futbol 11 variant counts toward the cross-game Polyglot and Perfect Day badges. Per-variant streak isolation is on the roadmap.
Can I share my result without spoilers?
