What is Club Football 11?

Club Football 11 is a daily lineup builder where each of the 11 positions must be filled by a player from a different football club. A player is eligible for any club they have played for (current or former). New puzzle daily.

Heads-up: This is the one variant where the twist is clubs, not countries: every position must come from a different football club. A player counts for any club they have played for.

Why Clubs lineups are harder

You are not picking by nation — each of the 11 slots is a different club, and a player only fits a slot if they actually played there. Knowing transfer histories (who turned out for Sevilla, Dortmund, or Monaco) matters far more than knowing nationalities.

How to play in 4 steps

  1. 1

    Pick a formation

Choose from 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 3-5-2, 3-4-3, or 5-3-2. Formations that can't be filled with today's 11 clubs are greyed out.

  2. 2

    Tap a position slot

Each of the 11 slots must come from a different club. Pick any player who has played for one of the day's clubs.

  3. 3

    Search a player

Results are filtered to players who played for one of today's remaining clubs at the slot's position.

  4. 4

    Fill all 11 slots

Complete every slot with one unique country. Share the emoji-grid result when you finish.

Frequently asked questions

What is Club Football 11?

+

Club Football 11 is a daily lineup builder where each of the 11 positions must be filled by a player from a different football club. A player is eligible for any club they have played for (current or former). New puzzle daily.

Is Club Football 11 free?

+

Yes — no signup, no paywall. Streaks and stats live only in your browser.

How is the 11-clubs rule different from Futbol Grid?

+

Futbol Grid is a 3×3 board of club × country intersections. Club Football 11 is a lineup builder: pick a formation, then fill 11 slots, each from a different club. Different game, same club knowledge.

Can I use two players from the same club?

+

No. Each of the 11 slots must come from a different club. Once a club is used it is locked out for the rest of the lineup.

Which clubs are in the pool?

+

The 83 clubs with at least 5 players in our database, spanning the major European leagues plus selected clubs worldwide. The daily 11 is drawn from this pool.

Can one club fill a whole XI?

+

45 clubs in our database have 11+ players — enough to field a full XI on their own. Real Madrid is the deepest with 90 players tracked.

How does a player count for a club?

+

If they have played for that club at any point (current squad or a previous spell), they are eligible for that club’s slot. A player can only be used once per lineup, though.

Why are some formations greyed out?

+

The validator checks whether the day's 11 clubs can fill each formation — every position needs at least one club with a player in that role. Greyed = not solvable.

Which is the deepest club squad?

+

Real Madrid (90 players), followed by Barcelona and Chelsea (86 each). The Deepest Squads table on this page lists the live top 12.

Where does club data come from?

+

Transfermarkt, Wikipedia, and official club pages, manually audited by the PlayFutbol Data Team.

Does Club Football 11 feed the same badges?

+

Yes — Polyglot, Perfect Day and Streak-30 count plays across all games. Per-variant streak isolation is on the roadmap.

How is this different from chemistry-based draft games?

+

Games like SuperDraft score you on chemistry or squad value. Club Football 11 uses a single hard rule — 11 different clubs — with no scoring layer, so it rewards transfer-history knowledge rather than min-maxing.

Build streaks across all 12 games

Playing the Global Clubs Edition counts toward PlayFutbol's cross-game achievement badges — Polyglot (play all 12 games), Perfect Day (finish all 12 in one day) and Early Bird (finish before local noon). The knowledge compounds too: a transfer fact you learn here pays off the next day in Futbol Grid, Missing XI, and Career Path.
