How Futbol Bingo works
Futbol Bingo is a daily 5×5 football bingo. Every cell is a task about footballers — a nationality, a club, an age bracket, a career stat. Your job is to place a player who satisfies that task in each cell. Clear a row, column, or diagonal for a bingo. Clear all 25 for a blackout.
The task library contains 100 curated predicates across 7 categories — nationality, club, combo, career stats, league, age bracket, and position. Each day we sample 25 tasks with a per-category diversity cap so no board ever feels one-note. All predicates run against our 773-player database.

How to play in 4 steps
- 1
Pick a cell
Click any of the 25 cells. The task description appears below the board so you know exactly what to look for.
- 2
Find a matching player
Search our 773-player database. Correct picks turn green; wrong picks stay red and can be cleared with the × icon.
- 3
Chase lines
Five rows, five columns, two diagonals — 12 possible bingos. Completed lines highlight gold on the board.
- 4
Do not re-use players
Each player fills one cell only per board. Banking superstars for the hardest tasks is a valid strategy.
The task library — what categories appear?
Every Futbol Bingo board pulls from these 100 predicates. The diversity cap means you will never see five nationality cells in the same row, but nationality is still the single largest category — know your lesser-footballing countries.
| Category | Tasks in pool | Share | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nationality | 32 | 32% | "Argentine player", "Japanese player", "Moroccan player" |
| Club | 26 | 26% | "Played for Real Madrid", "Played for Ajax", "Played for RB Leipzig" |
| Combo | 14 | 14% | "French forward", "German midfielder", "Premier League forward" |
| Stats | 12 | 12% | "50+ career goals", "600+ appearances", "0.5+ goals/app" |
| League | 6 | 6% | "Played in Premier League", "Played in Ligue 1" |
| Age | 6 | 6% | "Under 19", "30 or older", "36 or older" |
| Position | 4 | 4% | "Goalkeeper", "Midfielder", "Forward" |
| Total | 100 | 100% |
Bingo strategy: easy cells first, combos last
Not every cell is equally hard. A rough rule of thumb, based on how our 773-player database distributes across categories:
- Easy tier — plain nationality (Spanish player, French player) and big-club tasks (Played for Real Madrid). Dozens of valid candidates; use one of your less-famous picks.
- Medium tier — league and position tasks. Still hundreds of candidates but constrained to current squads or single attribute.
- Hard tier — career stats thresholds like “600+ appearances” and “0.5+ goals/app”. Only a few dozen players qualify — save superstars for these.
- Hardest tier — combo tasks like “German midfielder” or “La Liga midfielder”. Two constraints at once can narrow the pool to a handful of names; solve these early before you use their matches elsewhere.
About the authors
Futbol Bingo is maintained by the PlayFutbol Data Team — a small group curating football predicates since January 2025. Every task in the 100-predicate pool is hand-written and validated against public sources (Transfermarkt, Wikipedia, official club pages). We do not use AI-generated tasks or player biographies; new predicates ship only after a human review that confirms at least a dozen valid candidates in our database.

Frequently asked questions
How many cells are on a Futbol Bingo board?
25 — a 5×5 grid. Competitors commonly use 3×4 (12 cells); our larger board creates 12 possible bingo lines: 5 rows, 5 columns, and 2 diagonals.
How many different tasks exist in the pool?
100 curated tasks across 7 categories — nationality (32), club (26), combo (14), career stats (12), league (6), age (6), and position (4). Each daily board is a diverse 25-task sample drawn from this pool.
Can I use the same player twice on a bingo board?
No. Each player may fill exactly one cell per board. That constraint is what makes saving superstars for the hardest tasks a genuine strategy decision.
What counts as "played for" a club?
Any senior, competitive appearance for the club — including official loan spells. Pre-season tours, trial periods, and unsigned deals do not count.
Do loan spells count on bingo?
Yes, as long as the loan was official and the player made competitive appearances. The predicate checks both current club and the full previous-clubs career chain.
Which task categories are hardest?
Combo tasks (nationality + position or league + position) usually have the smallest match pool, followed by age-30+ and stats thresholds like 600+ appearances. Plain nationality and big-club tasks are usually the easiest cells.
What is a blackout?
Blackout means all 25 cells filled correctly — every task on the board matched. It is the ultimate bingo challenge, well above clearing a single line.
Is the same board shown to everyone?
Yes. A seeded random generator picks the same 25 tasks (with diversity caps per category) for every player worldwide on a given date. Results are directly comparable.
Is there a Futbol Bingo archive?
Yes. Past boards are replayable from the archive — each archive play is a standalone solve and does not affect your current streak.
Is Futbol Bingo free?
Yes. No signup, no paywall, no ads interrupting the game.
